2022 Edition of Vanguard Stars has achieved a record number
After Madrid, Lisbon, Lyon, Porto and Vilamoura, it falls to the city of Seville to host the last stage of this year’s edition of the Vanguard Stars programme, which has once again beaten records with over 2,000 registered entries in 6 tournaments played in 2022. In December, the ‘Masters’ will be fought out in Lisbon with the 40 best tennis players of the year and with the renowned tennis coach Toni Nadal as the main special guest.
It is also worth stressing that in its 5th anniversary year, Vanguard Stars has already clocked up 4,000 entries (34.5% are women tennis players), with 11,500 matches in all.
Regarding the Seville stage, it will be recalled that it started off with a reception at Seville City Council by Mayor Antonio Muñoz Martínez and the head of Sport for the city of Andalusia, José Cardoso Botelho, CEO of Vanguard Properties - the main sponsor of the programme -, and Tatyana Bezukladnikova, General Manager of Vanguard Stars, who had the opportunity to give a presentation about the company and why it was investing in tennis, as well as revealing some details about this year’s programme whose Seville edition has beaten another record in terms of participants: 200 kids of which 75 are Portuguese.
Weighing up the year, Tatyana Bezukladnikova says she is extremely proud of the work done by the Vanguard Stars team and the number of entries, revealing that “this programme is already a reference, not just nationally, but also internationally” and highlights the all-important support from Vanguard Properties, as well as the Portuguese Tennis Federation and Wilson. “Despite being a programme of Portuguese origin, we also feel that there is greater recognition and support at an international level...moreover, the fact that the majority of our tennis players and the number of entries is increasing considerably year-on-year makes us even more committed to continue to organise, promote and support tennis amongst youngsters”, she concluded.
