Vanguard Properties and CUF design health clinic for Comporta community

Vanguard Properties and CUF have just signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a view to opening a private community health clinic for the ‘Terras da Comporta’ project.

This new health centre, which will be built on the ‘Dunas’ lot in the district of Grândola (parish of Carvalhal), will be strategically located within a development space earmarked for culture, services, sport, retail, and food to ensure accessibility to a wide range of health services for all those requiring healthcare.

Located close to Carvalhal, the clinic’s role will be to meet the health needs of the local population and the development’s clients, securing the high-quality health services which are associated with clinical practice at CUF, thereby contributing to increasing the range of healthcare services in this region of the country.

The range of clinical services offered - including doctor’s appointment, on-line medical services, nursing care and clinical tests - will keep pace with the growth of the development and requirements of its community. The health centre is expected to open between the end of 2023 and the first half of 2024.

This health centre within the community, which will be developed in close liaison with CUF’s national healthcare network, and which it will be part of, was designed to fit the profile of the resident population in the region and those visiting Portugal, ensuring a service in both Portuguese and English.

Aligned with the sustainability strategy that characterises the ‘Terras da Comporta’ project, the clinic will be housed in a NZEB - Net Zero Emission Building - entirely built of wood, while also ensuring maximum comfort for the health care of clients and the wellbeing of professionals.

For José Cardoso Botelho, CEO of Vanguard Properties, “the project ‘Terras da Comporta’ is anchored in sustainability, and within this, in improving lifestyle quality. We are supporting local communities through this clinic, ensuring that everyone – residents and all those linked with the developments, as well as tourists – have access to permanent quality healthcare services”.

Rui Diniz, CUF’s Executive Committee chairperson says that this project, which is part of the quality healthcare service provider’s expansion plan in Portugal, “is another milestone in the consolidation of the CUF network at a national level and reinforces its outreach services among the local community. And that is why we are delighted to positively embrace this challenge set by Vanguard”.
