Vanguard supports innovative cultural project that focusses on sustainability in the Comporta region

Vanguard Properties continues its focus on environmentally and socially sustainable projects in Comporta, while maintaining its commitment to the region’s people and traditions. To this end, and especially due to increasingly urgent concerns regarding the effects of climate change, such as social injustice and economic inequality, the company has decided to become a "main sponsor" of Terrafoundation. This particular platform views culture - the fourth cornerstone of sustainability – as key to redesigning new solutions for a dynamic social, economic, cultural and environmental ecosystem.

The platform’s objectives include restoring nature, rebalancing our relationship with the planet and developing skills among the vulnerable. This is done via a number of exhibitions and installations, which were inaugurated recently in Carvalhal, in the municipality of Grândola. According to Guta Moura Guedes, co-founder of the foundation (alongside João José Raimundo), "using different artistic and cultural means, we want to highlight cultural, social and environmental integration that alerts people to the consequences of environmental and social impacts, while appreciating an entire place, its people and know-how". The area of Comporta was chosen for this cultural intervention project as a training and education provider.
