Terras da Comporta Golf stars again at the World Golf Awards

Terras da Comporta Golf has once again established itself among the world's elite in the sport by winning three major awards at this year's World Golf Awards, reinforcing Portugal's position as a leading international golf destination.

The newly opened Torre Golf Course, designed by renowned player Sergio Garcia, took center stage by being named “World's Best New Course.” The course was launched just over a month ago and has already captured the attention of the global community, not only for its design by the former world number one, but also for its seamless integration into the Terras da Comporta landscape.

The Dunas Golf Course was also voted “Best Course in Europe,” reinforcing a track record of distinctions it has accumulated since its opening just three years ago. The award confirms the growing international recognition of a project that has established itself as one of the most innovative and consistent on the global scene. Dunas also won the award for “World's Most Sustainable Golf Course”, highlighting the development's commitment to rigorous environmental practices, responsible resource management, and active preservation of local biodiversity.

According to Rodrigo Ulrich, golf director at Terras da Comporta, these awards “confirm a long-term vision that has always sought to combine sporting excellence, absolute respect for the landscape, and a truly unique experience for players.” For Ulrich, international recognition “is both a source of pride and a responsibility,” reinforcing the commitment to “continue to raise the standards of national golf and establish Portugal as a leading destination on a global scale.”

He also highlights the particular impact of the award given to the Torre Golf Course: “We launched the course just over a month ago. Seeing the international community immediately recognize it as the best new course in the world shows the extreme care taken in Sergio Garcia's design and the dedication of the entire team on the ground.”

With these three awards, Terras da Comporta reaffirms itself as one of the most ambitious and award-winning projects of the new generation of European golf, combining innovation, sustainability, and a growing position on the international circuits.
