José Cardoso Botelho meets with Francis Kéré

Sustainability, construction in wood and... ‘Terras da Comporta’. These were some of the main topics addressed by the CEO da Vanguard Properties, José Cardoso Botelho and the latest winner of the coveted Pritzker Prize, Francis Kéré.  This meeting served to bolster the position and vision of Vanguard Properties which intends to continue developing integrated and integrationist projects which have been carefully designed to not only respect the environment, but also traditions, culture, and people. 

Born on 10 April 1965, Diébédo Francis Kéré is a burkinabé architect with German citizenship, who graduated from Berlin Technical University and has been resident in the German capital since 1985.  In tandem with his studies and work, he founded the Kéré Foundation and later opened his own studio Kéré Architecture. His work has been recognised internationally with various prestigious distinctions such as the Aga Khan Award for Architecture, a gold medal in the Global Award for Sustainable Architecture and the 2022 Pritzker Architecture Prize.  Kéré is known to design projects that are based on sustainability, low-cost materials, and workforce from the local community with which it seeks to develop a strong link and partnership.
