Vanguard Properties installs innovative electric vehicle charging system by Portuguese company SOLX for the Bayline condominium

Vanguard Properties has installed 270 charging stations for electric vehicles at the Bayline condominium in Armação de Pêra, Algarve.

The property developer led by José Cardoso Botelho selected technology from the Portuguese company SOLX, which now offers innovative electric mobility options at the development. Using SOLX PARK technology, future residents will enjoy an integrated charging platform, with features such as scale load balancing, real-time monitoring and centralised management via an intuitive back office.

In addition to this, it’s possible to control and monitor charging remotely via a smartphone, using the My SoLX mobile app. Available for both Android and iOS, the app issues notifications in real time, provides access to a charging history and the chance to programme and adjust charging power.

For José Cardoso Botelho, CEO of Vanguard Properties, "the Bayline project needed a cutting-edge option like the one SOLX presented. SOLX have proved the ideal partner to make Bayline a beacon of electric mobility, with a vehicle charging system that combines technology, simplicity and safety."

In the words of Lúcio Ferrão, CEO of SOLX, "integrating our technology into the Bayline project has proved a milestone for the company, demonstrating that it’s possible to combine luxury, convenience and sustainability via innovative charging options."

The investment in electric mobility for the Bayline condominium, which boasts 255 apartments and is in the final stages of commercialisation, is another important step in Vanguard Properties' strategy of making its real estate projects smarter and more sustainable.

Vanguard Properties has also announced the installation of 200 electric vehicle chargers at its Infinity Tower project in Lisbon. Elsewhere, the company is investing around four million euros to build 40 kilometres of cycle paths and buy 1,000 electric bicycles for projects in Comporta.

In 2022, Vanguard Properties, which is committed to developing a green construction industry in Portugal, acquired KŌZŌWOOD (previously Black Oak Company), a company capable of producing customised wooden structures for houses ('woodframe' and CLT - 'cross-laminated timber').

For the Terras da Comporta and Muda Reserve projects, which are located in the municipalities of Alcácer do Sal and Grândola, Vanguard Properties has already announced that the building structures will be made of wood. This will contribute to making them Net Zero Carbon Buildings, which are typically energy efficient and have a neutral or negative environmental footprint.
