Vanguard Stars shines at the 10th María de Villota Awards and 12th Ciudad de la Raqueta Awards

Considered to be the most important independent sports awards in Spain, the María de Villota – Ciudad de la Raqueta Awards recognise people and institutions that have left a major and enduring mark on our society through sport and its values.

The awards jury, which featured Olympic medallists, world champions, businesspeople and prominent personalities, distinguished the finest sportspeople and institutions of 2023.

Vanguard Properties received a major award for its excellent work, receiving the prize for "Best Sports Company" for organising the Vanguard Stars circuit and for its international presence. It was presented to Tatyana Bezukladnikova by Virginia Ruano, Olympic medallist and winner of eleven Grand Slams.

These awards have previously been awarded to renowned figures, such as Rafa Nadal, Ruth Beitia, Alberto Contador, Feliciano López, Conchita Martínez, Maialen Chorraut, Juan Carlos Ferrero, Amaya Valdemoro, Ángel Nieto (in memory), Marc Márquez, Real Madrid, Familia Gento, Mutua Madrid Open, Manuel Orantes, Manolo Santana, the Conde de Godó Trophy, among others.

Many of the Vanguard Stars team travelled to Madrid to receive the award and enjoy a gala attended by many international sports stars. In the world of tennis, other award winners included the Sánchez Vicario family, RGC Covadonga, IparTenis and Copa Sevilla.

The event saw major representation from the areas of sport, the media, society and business. Among those present were Miguel Díaz, president of the Royal Spanish Tennis Federation; Raúl Chapado, president of the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation; Juan Antonio Corbalán, former international basketball player; and Miguel Cardenal, former president of the Higher Sports Council (CSD).
