Vilamoura hosts another Vanguard Stars tournament

The sixth Vanguard Stars tournament took place on 16th and 17th September in Vilamoura. This year's under-10 and under-11 competitions continues to break Portuguese and international records for the number of entries, with over 210 young athletes of various nationalities travelling to the Vilamoura Tennis & Padel Academy to compete for the coveted trophy.

For Tatyana Bezukladnikova, managing director of Vanguard Stars, "the focus of the Vanguard Stars programme is on making a contribution to these young people’s future and the development of their physical and mental capacities. Tennis is a particularly demanding sport that provides wide-ranging development for youngsters. It's also important to highlight the role families play in this programme. It’s fundamental that they spend quality time together, so players grow up in a healthy way, not only in terms of sport, but also on a personal level."

After the Madrid, Lisbon, Frankfurt, Porto and Vilamoura stages, there’s the Seville tournament on 14th and 15th October. Once again, this year's Masters will be held in Jamor (Greater Lisbon) on 2nd and 3rd December.
