White Shell x Anna Westerlund Ceramics

“A few months ago Vanguard Properties offered me the challenge of doing a project for one of their developments – WHITE SHELL, at Porches, in the Algarve, designed by the charismatic Portuguese architect Miguel Saraiva.

Lighting, ceramic pieces and other creative details, which when put together with the existing features, lend personality and harmony to each villa and the shared social areas.

From the outline brief, to the prototypes, to the show villa, everything has taken shape with a detail that stands out and has been adapted for each interior.

The manner in which I design and achieve my pieces is to make them eye-catching, working on the aspects and details of each individually.

The colours, the textures and the language that I aim to put into these projects seeks always to capture the uniqueness and essence of each interior space.

The ingredients for success are complete:  a premium location, an architectural project of excellence and an inspiring and innovative vision on the part of Vanguard Properties.

The Porches fishing villa is our source of inspiration, bringing together traditional elements from the Algarve and its history to our ‘moodboard’ - the colours of the sea; the terracotta sunset tones and the rugged earth ground and the green of the lush Algarve gardens. The linen textiles and ceramics come together in the search for perfect coordination.
